Who is Peter the Wild Boy?

Peter the Wild Boy is a digital character in the Enchanted Palace, the resident trickster in the story of Kensington Palace’s fairytale enchantment. He is a gossipy and irreverent commentator on the palace’s past and present – offering exclusive online access to the fashion, fairytale and 300 years of palace intrigues.

Who was Peter the Wild Boy?

A celebrity ‘wild boy’ of the Georgian period. Found as a feral teenager living naked in the woods near Hanover in Germany and brought to London in the spring of 1726. He spent time at Kensington Palace in the courts of King George I and of his son and daughter-in-law, the Prince and Princess of Wales. Daniel Defoe wrote a book about him, a wax figure of him was exhibited in the Strand, and William Kent painted him amongst other court members on the King’s Staircase.
